Brazin lives for the excitement of discovering Zinfandel’s bold, adventurous beauty. Our Zinfandel is crafted from family-owned, head-trained vines that are over 30 years old. The unique combination of warm days and cool nights, sandy soils and old vines fosters small berry size. These lower yields lead to the unrivaled flavor found in Brazin Zinfandel – concentrated and bold with intense color and exceptional balance.

The 2012 Brazin Lodi Zinfandel is big, bold and offers aromas of rich black fruit and mocha that mingle with hints of spice and vanilla. Intense, ripe plum and jammy blackberry rock the palate of this daring Zinfandel. Balanced acidity and lingering tannins add complexity, concentration and depth to the finish.

Don’t be bashful with your pairings. Be Brazin! Serve with slow roasted baby back ribs, grilled flank steak or pasta with Italian sausage.

For Lodi, the 2012 vintage delivered an ideal growing season, producing fruit of exceptional quality across the board. A warm, dry spring yielded a well-balanced crop. Moderate summer weather and warm temperatures prior to harvest allowed the grapes to gradually ripen, delivering outstanding fruit across the region. These near-perfect growing conditions gave the 2012 Zinfandel brilliant color, complex layers of fruit flavors and a round, plush palate.

Lodi is Zinfandel country – the grape thrives in the region’s Mediterranean-like climate and sandy soils. Located due east of San Francisco, Lodi experiences warm days and nights that are cooled by Pacific breezes funneled through the Carquinez Straits. Its fine granular soils offer excellent drainage, forcing the vine’s roots deep into the ground. This unique combination of climate, soil and old vines foster small berry size, which leads to intense color and rich, concentrated flavors.
